Public services
Social services interpreting in Scotland
Social care depends on trust, and trust depends on being understood. We interpret for social work, family support and welfare services, so the person at the centre can speak for themselves.
When people call us
- Assessments and reviews with social workers
- Family support and child protection meetings
- Adult care and carer assessments
- Welfare rights and benefits appointments
- Translation of care plans and letters
How we approach it
Sensitive matters handled with care
Our interpreters are used to hard conversations and will say if they need a pause.
No role beyond language
We interpret. We do not advise, report or take part in decisions.
Continuity where possible
If a family sees you more than once, we will aim to send the same interpreter.

Questions
Social services: common questions
Can you send the same interpreter each time?
We will try. Ask for continuity when you book and we will do our best to arrange it.
Do you interpret for child protection meetings?
Yes, by arrangement. These are sensitive. Please tell us the nature of the meeting so we can choose the right person.
Ready when you are
Tell us what you need, and when.
A short call or message is usually enough for us to say what we can arrange and what it will cost.
Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. [email protected]
